CHM Reader App Reviews

This app does open CHM files. However, there is no search function. (I’m assuming you get the search function if you pay for the premium version) Search is critical for large CHM files. There are free apps out there that allow searching. I’d recommend using those. One is called iCHM.

good interface, easy to use

This app is really good. It opens chm files encoded in unicode and other charsets, such as cp-1256. But "Contents" and "Index" sidebars dont support unicode and encodings other than latin-based. For example, Arabic or cp-1256 text appears in alien characters in the sidebar.
